I want Harbhajan Singh to be banned and/or punished severely or else, I am going to boycott watching IPL in specific and try to stop watching any international match featuring the loafer in general. There is no place for violence on the cricket field and there is no justification for beating up a player on the field. Just because the opposition player is from your national side does not mean you take liberties to get physical if you don't appreciate something about him or be a bitter and miserable loser. Cricket is - though cliched - called a gentleman's game and the loafer has breached the code. In fact, if I were a self-respecting cricketer, I would quit the game in protest if my assailant is left off the hook. I am not - I am a mere viewer and lover of the game and I shall not tolerate on field aggression of this sort.
As I mentioned above, if action is not taken, I am going to boycott the game and I want you to do the same. Else this could be the beginning of the end.

Modi said, "...Harbhajan is not saying he has not done anything. He's saying he has been provoked.
"See, even (Manchester duo Wayne) Rooney and (Cristian) Ronaldo had difference when they played for their respective countries," he argued.
I think it is a very idiotic thing to justify what the loafer did. This is cricket stupid. Not football. And football also does not tolerate beating up players on the field. Remember Zinedine Zidane's swan song?
Update (28 Apr 2008): Harbhajan banned from IPL. Great news. I hope BCCI takes action too.
