Saurav Ganguly became the third batsman in the history of One Day Cricket to achieve the feat of 10,000 runs when he was on the score of 33 in the Match against Sri Lanka to-day.
He achieved the milestone in his 272nd Match (263 Innings) making him the second fastest player to reach the target. The other players who have achieved this milestone of 10,000 ODI runs are Sachin Tendulkar(266 matches and 259 innings) and Inzaman (322 matches and 299 innings).
In ODIs, Ganguly has a batting average of 41.18 with 22 centuries and 59 half centuries. He has been awarded the man-of-the-match award 30 times in his career and has a highest score of 183 runs which came his way in a match against Sri Lanka in the 1999 ICC World Cup in England.
Fellow team mate Rahul Dravid once quoted, "On the off-side, first there is God, then there is Saurav Ganguly."
